The plot needed some work, and the telling of the story was absurdly shortened to one film. The "fall of Mars and Hades" could have been turned into something more substantial, like turning mobsters within some family to get them to kill for another family, and the abduction of gods was a gold mine of intrigue, action, and suspense left completely unmined, as with the abduction of Athena and Mercury, and the related divine fireworks to pursue and take them as prisoners, as in the Harry Potter films. (This was easily a trilogy, shortened to produce a less than stellar result.) Kronos could have spoken to Hades through dreams (a la the Matrix final film and the turning of one of the "good guys"), followed by more intrigue as Hades turned Mars against Zeus. There wasn't enough up-side potential for the gods in turning back to Zeus' side. Saving the world before humanity should have won them more "prayers" of empowerment, and more power in the end, particularly if there were so many soldiers eager to worship Mars. (If they'll pray to Mars, why not Zeus after encountering a giant blob of angry, humaniform magma in the person of Kronos?) The plot could have been better, and the plot sequence needed two films to accomplish this goal admirably, but the actors managed to do their jobs well and remain appealing. Hephaestus was portrayed wonderfully, and deserved MUCH more time on screen, not a too quick demise at the hands of Mars. (Why completely disempower him? The forms of artisans and craftsmen in the context of guilds and secret societies with bizarre rituals were quite ancient, and might have constituted a sort of "prayer" that kept Hephaestus less than "almighty", but not completely without any divine juice even with the Olympian gods in human disfavor.) The special effects were fantastic for the genre. I watched this one evening, and didn't begrudge the film the time. I was merely disappointed that Hollywood was so wanting in vision when this film was conceived as one movie.

Went to this movie in theaters and thought it was a decent sequel. The plot holes, not going to put in spoilers sorry watch it and judge for yourself, left several questions as to the missing characters from the original. If this movie had been done/marketed as a part 2 of Clash of the Titans, rather than a sequel I think it would of made more sense.

Comments about Wrath of the Titans DVD:

A disappointment in almost every way. The actors' dialogue seemed forced in most scenes. The accents used by the actors left much to be desired. Sam Worthington didn't seem to try to cover up his Australian accent at all. The effects were good, but seemed to be of a lower caliber than the previous movie.
