Comments about William Powell at Warner Bros.:

The two films directed by Michael Kurtiz are minor classics of the Powell style, setting the tone for most of Powell's later work, both in detective work and mixed noble/shameful romance. It is rather amazing how little Powell's style changed from 1933 to the later movies.

Comments about William Powell at Warner Bros.:

I am always on the lookout for a William Powell movie. And this one is four of them in one. Each performance builds on the next and it is easy to see from these films why William was such a success in the Thin Man series.

Comments about William Powell at Warner Bros.:

I gave this set as a gift to myself. I've loved William Powell for a LONG time, falling in love with Nick Charles. He actually started my interest in collecting the classics. Imagine my surprise that he was a top level star before the THIN MAN years. Imagine a four film set of lively, Pre-Code Powell, beautifully remastered. When one of those films is a long missing gem called THE KEY, it's a GRAND SLAM! Thank You, Warner Archives!
