Whipsaw (MOD)

Under Sam Wood's direction, Myrna Loy and Spencer Tracy scram through larceny, duplicity and love in a she-and-he adventure that critics favorably compared to The Thirty-Nine Steps and It Happened One Night.

    Comments about Whipsaw (1935):

Good little movie, coming in at 82 mins. (despite the Warner Archive site indicating it's 88 mins.). Picture and audio quality is clear and crisp, the story is interesting and characters engaging, acting's first-rate, and you simply can't go wrong, and won't be bored, with this movie. The story has a crime theme, but in a light-weight romantic vein, that at no time is heavy or overly serious. This movie, and its stars, is pure pleasant entertainment, that I believe anyone who loves old movies will enjoy.

      Comments about Whipsaw (1935):

Can't get much better than Spencer Tracy and Myrna Loy together and very happy that WB is releasing these films. We enjoyed the fast pace story shot in nice crisp black and white. Captions or subtitles would be the only thing we could wish for on these dvd's.
