Comments about Vengeance of Fu Manchu, The:

The third in the Christopher lee starring Fu Manchu movies. It's all about Fu Manchu getting revenge on Nayland Smith with a plot concerning plastic surgery and Fu Manchu becoming the head of a international crime syndicate. Douglas Wilmer is fun as Smith but i missed Nigel Green who starred in Face Of Fu Manchu. Still Wilmer has even more of a "Britishness" about him though. Horst Frank is a great villain as Fu Manchu's henchman in this one but for me best of all is seeing German actor Peter Carsten (best known here in the U.S. as Heinlein the nasty mercenary in Dark Of The Sun) as a heroic criminal who fights alongside Wilmer against Fu Manchu.

Interesting story with Christoper Lee and his great Fu Manchu character as well as the actress who plays his daughter and the actors who portray the British agents.

Comments about Vengeance of Fu Manchu, The:

THIS IS THE THIRD OF FIVE FU MANCHU ADVENTURES STARRING CHRISTOPHER LEE, AND CLEARLY THE BEST OF THE SERIES. DOUGLAS WILMER, WHO REPLACED NIGEL GREEN AS NAYLAND SMITH AFTER THE FACE OF FU MANCHU, IS GIVEN GREATER PLAY HEREIN WHEN FU MANCHU INCORPORATES A LETHAL DOUBLE WITHIN SCOTLAND YARD IN A MALEVOLENT SCHEME TO CONTROL THE WORLD'S PREMIER LAW OFFICIALS. INTERNATIONAL ROGUE HORST FRANK SERVES AS THE DOCTOR'S INTERMEDIARY WHILE SERIES REGULARS TSAI CHIN AND HOWARD MARION CRAWFORD ARE EFFECTIVE AS HIS DAUGHTER AND DR.PETRIE, RESPECTIVELY. PLAYGIRL MARIA ROHM, SECRETARY MONA CHONG AND SOLDIER-OF-FORTUNE PETER CARSTEN LEND SOLID SUPPORT.HOWEVER, CHRISTOPHER LEE GIVES ONE OF HIS FINEST PERFORMANCES. JEREMY SUMMERS' DIRECTION IS MORE EXOTIC THAN PREDECESSOR DON SHARP, A QUALITY ENHANCED BY STUDIO INTERIORS LENSED AT THE SHAW BROTHERS STUDIO IN HONG KONG. AN EXCELLENT PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT.

Comments about Vengeance of Fu Manchu, The:

This film is the best in the series (in total there are five). Fun to recall it from going to the drive-in with my family (as a youngster) and sitting on the top of the car with a blanket.
