Comments about Wind And The Lion, The:

A bit split between story lines, but the 'military action' from the military discussion through the march to the palace is greatness.

Comments about Wind And The Lion, The:

My bluray copy is on order and on its way. I can't wait. Hopefully WB took the trouble to do a terrific restoration job. This film is a wonderful epic adventure. Sure, the history is a bit strained, but it's a MOVIE in the best sense. Connery is great, Bergen and Keith do their best movie work. Jerry Goldsmith's score is one of the best ever. Now, will someone tell me why this and so many established classics are so marginalized that they're considered "archive" and not a standard bluray release? LION and GYPSY and GREYSTOKE and DEATHTRAP and JUMBO were all among the top grossing films of their years and Oscar nominees. Most adults (particulary boomers) are more than a bit familiar with them. Are all these decisions being made by 20something employees who have no consciousness of movies pre 1990?
