The last of the Mike Henry Tarzan films. Too bad too. These are the Tarzans I loved the most!

DVD is well worth the price!!

Comments about Tarzan and the Jungle Boy (1968):

I am a Tarzan fan and collector (also wrote a book about the vine-swinger) and I must say Mike Henry plays the most physically believable Tarzan ever. He is right out of the Edgar Rice Burroughs books, in my oppinion. Most people can't get Johnny Weismuller's version out of their heads, and those are fun, but the monosyllabic, unintelligent ape-man is not what Burroughs wrote. Many called these Mike Henry versions a James Bond type of Tarzan character, which is actually more the type ERB wrote about---except with a lot more violence.

"Jungle Boy" (like all three Mike Henry versions) is a little slow and the violence and special effects are simplistic, but I liked the leopard VS lion fight and there is a great knock-down-drag-out fight between Mike Henry and Rafer Johnson (who is also cast as the villian, for some strange reason, in "Tarzan and the Big River") at the end. Although mixing animals from two continents (Aftica/South America) was noticable to me.

Comments about Tarzan and the Jungle Boy (1968):

A slower paced, rather meandering plot. Mike Henry does a good job with what he has to work with.
