Comments about Super Friends: The Lost Episodes (1983) DVD:

Please, Please, Please, Warner Brothers! Produce more DVDs of these Super Friends Episodes from the 1980-82 Season. If you do, you will have put ALL of the Superfriends in its various incarnations on DVD for longtime and new fans to enjoy. Moreover, while one can see the other episodes on free online streaming video sites, there's nothing like owning them on DVD.

I particularly recommend these cartoons to parents who want their children to experience the heroes of the DC Universe in a light-hearted manner. I believe this series to be a perfect compliment (if not template) for DC comics' kid-friendly titles.

Comments about Super Friends: The Lost Episodes (1983) DVD:

This is a great DVD with many lost episodes, most of which I've never seen. The only problem is that there are more still out there not on this collection. Where is Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and El Dorado vs Space Mummy? Where is Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Atom vs Diamond Jack? Where is Aquaman, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl vs oil slick monster? Keep them coming Warner Bros, please?

Comments about Super Friends: The Lost Episodes (1983) DVD:

Each of the 24 episodes – presented in full-screen format - features three, 7-minute shorts following the format of the 5th Season (1980-1982): the five original SuperFriends in various team-ups or ensemble adventures; the Wonder Twins and Gleek; team-up of an original and new SuperFriends members (such as Wonder Woman and Samurai). In these episodes, the animation is superior to the earlier series with noticeable efforts made with character lip sync and color accuracy. While a common occurrence in the earlier series, very few mis-colorations were seen in these episodes and when seen, were limited to subtle errors like an inverted Bat-symbol for only a few frames. An interesting observation is that Wonder Woman's lasso-throw from the opening sequence is re-used against different backdrops in every episode that she appears in this series. The transfer and restoration efforts are excellent on this release. Watching the DVD on a 50" Samsung HD flat-screen television, played though a Sony progressive scan DVD player with Dolby Digital and DTS, the colors are bright, the animation is very crisp and the picture is extremely clean. English mono audio remains very clear and the balance of character voices mix perfectly against the classic orchestral soundtrack and sound effects. The original voice cast continues for these episodes featuring fan-favorite Shannon Farnon in the role of Wonder Woman. The bonus downloadable SuperFriends comic books were a joy to read and are high-resolution scans of the original publication that have been compiled into a multi-page PDF format.SuperFriends: The Lost Episodes arrives on DVD on August 11, 2009. After this heroic collection, Super-fans across the globe will be anxiously waiting for Warner Home Video to continue releasing the remaining seasons to complete their SuperFriends DVD library!
