Comments about SPRING FEVER (MOD):

haines and crawford shine in a fun and light story about golf. sadly, the sample clip showing the film quality is misleading: it is the opening scene and the best part, visually. the rest of the film suffers from terrible deterorition all the way to the final reel. the damage knocks this four-star movie down to three.

Comments about SPRING FEVER (MOD):

I am glad to own this very rare film, however I was surprised it hadn't been cleaned up before it was put on DVD. The film itself was not in very good condition. I was also surprised that you couldn't jump to a scene using a scene selection option. There were also no extra features. From what I heard these movies were initally released at a very high cost. (more than 20 dollars) I expected more!

Comments about SPRING FEVER (MOD):

William Haines and Joan Crawford are a perfect pair for this movie being both great actors. I found it as a cute comedy, love story for Jack Kelly to go from rags to finding is talent and getting the girl who loves him for being himself.

      Comments about SPRING FEVER (MOD):

One of my favorite actresses from Hollywood's Golden Era, Joan Crawford made about 20 silent films during the first four years of her career (1925-1929). I'd basically resigned myself to the idea that the majority of these would not be available for me to watch during my lifetime, so it was a real thrill to see SPRING FEVER [1927] included on the WB Archives list of DVD releases.

Basically TIN CUP w/ title cards, this golf comedy/romance is pretty creaky, yet still enjoyable as a rare chance to see some early work from rising stars Crawford and William Haines, who were both top box-office draws of the period.

There are several moments (especially in a tender bedroom scene) where Crawford really shines in SPRING FEVER, and a jilted William Haines has one of the best lines I've heard (read?) on-screen in quite a while: "I thought I was the whole maple forest, but I'm only the sap."
