      Comments about Razorback (MOD):

I had seen this in the theatres when it came out. Then it scared me a little. But now I kind of laugh at it now. They could've done a much better job of creating a believable Razorback in the outback. But,they failed in their endeavor.

        Comments about Razorback (MOD):

Gregory Harrison stars in this excellent film about a giant rhino sized Razorback running loose in the Aussie outback and killing people.
Great monster and some good scary moments. Highly recommended DVD MOD and a huge thanks to Warners for getting this film out again.

        Comments about Razorback (MOD):

Basically "Jaws" on land, Gregory Harrison goes to the Australian outback to hunt down the giant pig that ate his wife. Flick is filled with some great over the top characters. There are some great scares here. Director Russell Mulcahy went on to direct Highlander next. This is a solid giant monster on the loose flick that deserves to be rediscovered.

          Comments about Razorback (MOD):

Caught this on cable many years ago. Glad to see it finally on DVD. Great film with beautiful cinematography and a typically quirky cast of oddball Aussie characters. (Makes you wonder how Australians feel about always seeming to be portrayed as unclean "Mad Max"-type weirdos. LOL) The only thing out of place here is the slightly off-beat choice of Gregory Harrison as the film's protagonist. He does a serviceable job, but I feel the film could have had broader appeal with a better actor in the lead.

The monster is suitably menacing and wisely kept to a few frustratingly fleet shots here and there. Real wild boars are notoriously fierce, violently aggressive animals, so enlarging one of them to elephant size is a simple, convenient way to create one mean, menacing movie monster.

The ending was nicely staged and exciting. Good solid film that deserves more recognition. The WB print is solid and relatively clean and clear, but a remastered version sure would be nice. Like they have with many other films in the MOD library, WB needs to re-work the cover art. Get a clean copy of the original poster and use that!

                Comments about Razorback (MOD):

I remember renting the VHS of this movie back in the 1980's and the film left an impression on me that I never forgot. Excellent direction by former Duran Duran music video director Russell Mulcahy highlight this taut thriller about a giant razorback wild boar terrorizing a small town in the Australian outback. I believe that many modern animal-on-the-loose films most especially "Rogue" have borrowed heavily from this film. Terrifc DVD transfer especially in the dark scenes.

I saw this movie in the 80's. It kept me on the edge. really love this movie. You have to like scary movies. It has some gore in it, but not as bad as some movies today.

                  Comments about Razorback (MOD):

I remebered watching this movie as a teen, and it scared me silly. I especially loved the movie poster. Any comparisons to "Jaws" are superficial at best. Any movie with an enormous animal terrorizing the local populace will inevitably be compared to Jaws.

This movie takes place in the Australian Outback and has some great cinematography. The characters are well drawn and sympathetic. The director followed a good rule of thumb with horror movies: showing less is more. While there is some blood and gore, there are no gratuitopus shots of mangled or dismembered bodies, leaving it up to our imagination as to the fate of the razorback's victims.

As far as the quality of the DVD, I watched it on my bluray player and I could not tell the difference between a store-bought DVD and this MOD DVD. Great sound and picture quality.

This may be your only chance to own this great horror movie from the eighties! Get it now!
