Comments about Quo Vadis Blu-ray:

If you have any faith in God you will cherish this movie. Made in 1951, the year I was born, the story, acting and actions scenes for it's time are superb. Too bad wide screen hadn't started yet. This movie launched The 10 Commandments, Ben Hur and all the other religious epics to follow. One of my all time Top 10 movies EVER!

      Comments about Quo Vadis Blu-ray:

Saw it in '51 when I was in first grade. Never had seen it since, until this. Interesting, the lush blu ray dazzle helped.

It is sort of like a Technicolor remake of SIGN OF THE CROSS really, without DeMile at the helm . Fun, but hokey. Peter Ustinov is terrific as Nero. I remembered him from 60 years ago.

      Comments about Quo Vadis Blu-ray:

Several years in the making at an estimated cost of 7 million, MGM's remake of Quo Vadis helped define the Biblical spectacle of the fifties. Leo Genn is suitably droll as Petronius, but the the film really belongs to the scene-stealing Ustinov as the anti-Christ, Nero. Now, simply sensational in blu-ray.

        Comments about Quo Vadis Blu-ray:

Warner did a great job restoring the color and image of this classic 1951 film, but the sound level leaves much to be desired. I had to turn my amplifier almost to the top to get the desired sound I wanted. Just remember to turn it back down before you hit your source button to return to regular modern broadcasts or you'll blow your speakers.

This is a special film in cinematic history and well worth owning. I owned the DVD version and have since bought the Blu-ray. The movie is presented in outstanding quality. The epic proportions of the production are astonishing. The special features on the disc are very good.
