A Mus For Film Historians
By Chris Bungo
from Miami Beach
Anyone who is interested in the history of MGM studios - or Hollywood in general - should get this movie. It is a film documentary without intending to be as it shows the end-of-life of MGM's Lot #2 (which today is the area bounded by Overland Avenue, Culver Blvd, Elenda Street and Oregon Avenue in Culver City). Picture and sound quality are excellent. Kudos to all who worked on this remastering project!
The Old MGM Backlot never looked so cool

About Me Collector, Movie Buff
If you are a fan of the movies, this is a great DVD to have in the collection. It was filmed just before the classic MGM lot #2 was sold off and demolished. You get to wander all around the various sets through the characters. Amazing. So glad this was available. The story is a pretty cheesy TV movie, but the fun is in seeing the old lot.
Very Interesting Look at MGM's back lot.
from Cincinnati, OH
It is very interesting to see the famous MGM backlot before it was distroyed in 1974.
A lot of fun!
Just seeing the MGM film lots is priceless in itself. Very predictable, but simply put, a lot of fun!

Jack Cassidy plays 2 roles in this long forgotten television film that is FINALLY available again. This remastered DVD tells the tale of a phantom that tries to stop the demolition of and old movie studio backlot that is being torn down by its owners. Actual footage was used in the making of this film from the old MGM backlots that were used for hundreds of actual motion pictures. Some of the scenes are interspersed with how the areas looked back in 1974 when this film was made and the lot was being taken down. A little slow at times, but this is a movie collectors dream!
