    Comments about Mockery (1927):

MOCKERY is thought by some to be subpar acting on Chaney's part, but that must be for those expecting some different kind of character. The star power here is clearly evident in scenes between Chaney & Barbara Bedford, which are terrific. That would be enough in itself, but a love triangle appears in the form of young Ricardo Cortez -- who manages to out-charm not just Chaney but even his later appearances in talking pictures.

MOCKERY does have a significant fault, in that it seems to end rather suddenly. Which is to say that it was going well enough that I wanted more, and certainly looked like it had the ingredients to do so. As given, it's certainly above average, and therefore rates 4/5. Great sets & good chemistry.

    Comments about Mockery (1927):

The print is really damaged 'average image',black levels were 'good' from time to time, sharp also, but the soundtrack is not so bad ! It's uneven in spots, with some softness and scratches, and a few bad frames.
Low but watchable print for a very old movie!
    RECOMMENDED!
