TTT and ROTK are, to me, beyond reproach. But I'm becoming more and more sure that something went terribly wrong in this issue of FOTR. I'm aware that intentional color-regrading was performed, but a large amount of evidence suggests that a green/teal tint was overlayed, with less than desirable results. Also, the picture has been darkened in such a way that many fine details are no longer visible. One has only to compare with the stellar picture quality of the second and third films to realize that something is off. Mistakes happen, and I suspect that is the case here. The word is spreading about these problems, and they need to be addressed. -David

Overbearing green tint is present throughout ENTIRE presentation of Fellowship of the Ring. It is not present on The Two Towers or Return of the King. There are also serious contrast issues with Fellowship. Blacks are crushed horribly leading to large amounts of fine shadow detail being lost completely (like in Moria for example.) The green bias in the imagery also makes Fellowship completely inconsistent with the other two. I was a bit concerned when I purchased this edition by a comment that the quality was less than expected. Upon watching all the discs, I am happy to say that the quality is great! "No problems here"!

About Me Movie Buff
Getting this Trilogy as the Extended Cut on Blu-Ray is just fantastic! Blu-Ray helps it look as good as it did when I first saw it on the big screen and the extended cut adds meaningful extra content to an already fantastic story!
