    Comments about Listen, Darling:

A charming movie featuring a pre-Wizard of Oz Judy singing, among other numbers, a lovely rendition of "Zing Went the Strings of my Heart". Someone at MGM discovered that Judy was a genius at crying on demand, because she has a ton of crying scenes in this movie. . .and she makes us cry with her.

The picture quality on this remastered DVD is beautiful; nice range of blacks and grays and nowhere near the damage you'd expect from a film of this vintage.

      Comments about Listen, Darling:

This is a believable movie that ends well. It depicts a different time when life seemed simpler. It is a very enjoyable movie.

Beware that the movie is issued on a DVD-R instead of a regular DVD. I am more than disgusted with Warner for issuing all the good old movies this way.

          Comments about Listen, Darling:

A delightful little musical comedy from MGM brings us a pre-OZ Judy Garland giving a really impressive and multi-dimensional performance. This film deserves to be better known, and hopefully with the release of this DVD, people will discover its charms. Garland, Bartholomew and a top-flight cast all work well as a finely-tuned ensemble, making this film far more impressive than its basically simple plot would indicate. Picture quality is overall excellent....crisp, clean & well-defined. The audio is remarkable for a sound track that is 75 years old. Check out the promo clip on this site to see how great the movie looks and sounds. Yet another winner from Warner.
