    Comments about Hysteria (1965):

HYSTERIA is one of Jimmy Sangster's twisty suspense stories for Hammer Films, and it's as good as his other ones (CRESCENDO is also available from Warner Archive). The set-up is the oldest one in the book--a man (Robert Webber) loses his memory in a car crash, and now he has to figure out who he is. The more he searches, the more sinister the story becomes. It seems he may be involved in a murder plot. As old as that story is, this film actually comes up with a great variation on it, leading to some very good jolts and a neat surprise ending. Webber is excellent, and the supporting cast is also good.

The remastered Warner Archive print of HYSTERIA has a vivid widescreen picture (black-and-white) and clear sound. If you love Hammer Horror as much as I do, you'll want to add this to your collection.

      Comments about Hysteria (1965):

Pretty good thriller from Hammer Studios. Very suspenseful, but fairly predictable, although the ending wasn't quite what I was expecting.
