        Comments about Housewife:

I love davis, good early role. best to get the large coffee table book about her. tells you all you need to know on early davis roles. really liked this one. it's fast-paced and unusual for her too. don't want to give it away..so wish it were in color. very engaging plot, worth it. curl up w/some good popcorn w/this one!

          Comments about Housewife:

The DVD looked great: Image and Sound are quite good regarding the age of the "film",still there are lots of white specks, a few bad frames, but good contrast, relatively sharp, and quite good audio also.
I would highly recommend this Film for any B. Davis's fan.

            Comments about Housewife:

Powerful women dominate this film. Ann Dvorak is the wife who has all the bright marketing and advertising ideas her husband uses as his own, yet she considers herself "just a housewife." Her husband, George Brent takes up with the new copywriter hired at a staggering $25,000 a year salary for someone just 8 years out of high school and back in town carrying a torch for Brent. But it's Bette Davis with the longest false eyelashes, so he succombs and carries on with her right in front of Dvorak. The sets are beautiful art deco and the gowns very appealing and revealing. Unfortunately the end is typical and Ann Dvorak returns to be just a housewife.
