    Comments about Hot Stuff (1979):

This was a movie that I have been looking for on DVD for years. I was really nervous when I seen it advertised that it would be dvd -r made on demand. I figured, why not, my vhs copy was wearing out and took a leap of faith. That leap paid off.

The overall quality was excellent and if you didn't know better, you would think that it was mass produced like today's new releases. Study case/excellent cover/proper movie lable.

The only negative I have, is that a bloopers reel would have been nice. If you have seen this movie, you know with this cast, that there had to be a lot of extra footage from mistakes.

        Comments about Hot Stuff (1979):

Oh Wow I was totally psyched when WB decided to release Dom Deluise's 1979 film Hot Stuff.Dom was at the peak of his career starring in a bunch of films around this time.He directs this one and stars as a soon to be retired police detective. His partner is Jerry Reed best known as Snow Man from the Smokey and the Bandit series. They are working the streets of Miami and are getting tired of criminals getting set loose by the courts due to insufficent evidence to hold them. After meeting up with fellow officer Suzanne Pleshette the 3 of them along with another member of their department played by Luis Avalos hatch a scheme to snare crooks in the act. They set up a fencing operation using a busted pawn shop for a front. This acts as a way to get crooks to bring stolen goods right to the police. And they set up videotape and audio tape to have documented proof of the illegal activities. If this all sounds serious don't be fooled it's a Dom Deluise film so you know things will go awry. Along the way the team encounters various sundry individuals and some whacked out crooks .There's even a drug dealing couple that resemble Lovey and Thurston from Gilligans Island. Of course the hijinks can't go along without hassles both from the Police and local mobsters. The grand finale at the pawn shop where they are hosting a party is a scene right out of the Batman tv series with a melee to end all mellees. This film is like a time capsule from an era that I grew up in.In fact in the early days of cable television Hot Stuff was in heavy rotation on one of the upstart movie channels. The cast is great the pacing fast and the humor is spot on.You'll laugh your butt off at certain points trust me.And if this film was released today it'd get a PG-13 for sure with some of the language, off color humor and drug usuage and references way too intense for todays PG crowd. So those who remember how much fun Dom Deluise and Jerry Reed were and are feeling like seeing a slice of nostalgia I highly recommend Hot Stuff it's just a lot of fun.
