Haywire (MOD)

Based on the bestseller by Margaret Sullavan's daughter Brooke and produced by her son Bill, Haywire powerfully shows how a burnished image of privilege and fame can hide - at least for a time - the reality of heartbreak and self-destruction.

This film should be remade as a feature film in theatres. Super story and even more interesting because it's true.

      Comments about Haywire (MOD):

This movie originally aired in 1980, and hasn't been seen in years. It is great to have some of these old 'made~for~tv' mini~series, put on DVD and made available to a new audience. My copy of this movie was excellent in every way. Yes, the movie may not have been re~mastered, but it is wonderful to see Lee Remick in top form. I read the book by Brook Hayward and had seen this on television and had always wanted to 'revisit' this movie. With these WB Archive made~to~order DVDs, we all have a chance to see these great actors and these movies, once again.

        Comments about Haywire (MOD):

Can't say enough good things about Warner Archive. They are making it possible for me to see films I thought I would never see again. "Haywire" is one of those Made-For-TV movies you don't forget once you see. Lee Remick gave one of her best performances, and the story has you gripped pretty much from the beginning. The quality is good - maybe not "remastered" good, but good enough to watch and enjoy.....

          Comments about Haywire (MOD):

No remastering or any attempt to make the TV movie better. No movie menu; no subtitles; very cheaply made; plus you don't even get to see the full credits. Warner should be ashamed.
However, the story remains interesting and sad and worth watching.
