If you're really having trouble learning how to use this, then you'd probably make a terrible Wizard. All the moves require a few minutes of practice to master. I had no trouble syncing the various movements to the buttons on my control. After a day or so, I'm confidently waving my wand around changing channels, controlling the volume, and even managing the sound bar.

2 negatives I can think of.
1- Not all buttons from your remote can be programmed. For example, the "special" buttons on my remote are the 'TV' button and the 'Source' button. These change the TV between regular antennae and HDMI, AV, etc. These would not work with the wand no matter how many times I tried.
2- I wish there were more movements to program. Even if they got more difficult, I would rather have more buttons on my wand so I didn't have to reach for the remote every now and then.

Other than that, I love this wand. Well worth the money.

    Can't get it to work...

Tried many times to get it to work. It never did. Had others try to get it to work just in case I was not doing it correctly. It still does not work.

Comments about Harry Potter Remote Control Wand:

When I first saw this, I knew right away it was something I needed to have. I received it as a gift, and was completely excited and waited to get it in the mail.. After reading the reviews, I was really scared that it would take me forever to program and that I'd be struggling for hours.. It took me 5 minutes to program. And 4 of those minutes were watching the video on this page.. Its easy to program and reprogram. I love that you can use it for different controllers. I love this product. And I'd recommend it to anyone who is a harry potter fan.

Comments about Harry Potter Remote Control Wand:

Had diffficulty with getting the wand to function at first. Bottom has to be on VERY tight before it starts to work. Some difficulty with programming. It would sometimes pick up the wrong function (something other than the button I used on my remote).

One Wand remote to control all my home entertainment components.
It's a clever, unique design. It's eye catching, it is a unltimate Harry Potter Collection piece.
It is a tad bit difficult to program.

It takes awhile to learn the motions. Even longer to program. Everyone who watches you use it wants to try it, then you have to teach them how to use it.

Comments about Harry Potter Remote Control Wand:

The wand does elicit the pulses upon movement, but I cannot get it to synch with a remote. I have attempted multiple remotes. I am at a point where I do not think it is me, as several have read the instructions and attempted to synch the device. I believe it is defective.
