This mug is really fun for any hot beverage!
Its like magic, watching it change color!
I wipe it with a towel rather than air dry becuase you can get these white stains from where the water drips down the side of the cup.(But dont worry, theyre not THAT noticable)
It does say not dishwasher safe and microwave safe on the other side, but it also says Harry Potter, which makes me happy :D
(It will also make a fun 'Thanks for letting me drag you to the movie theater at midnight gift :D)

From the picture on the website, i thought the mug would be all ceramic with the "shiny" finish that a coffee mug usually has. But the mug i received has a different material around most of the outside that has almost a chalkboard feel to it. The two materials on the same surface make the mug look cheap. The outside is also supposed to turn white when hot liquids are in it, but mine turns more gray than anything, and you are still able to see the white words which are supposed to "disappear". I thought maybe my coffee just wasn't hot enough to fully produce the awesome disappearing word trick, so i was going to put it in the microwave, until i noticed that it is not microwave safe. If i had not thrown the box away, i would have returned the mug. Now the stupid thing has grown on me, but i am still very disappointed that it is not at all what was depicted on your website.

    When I ordered my mug I knew it wasn't going to be shiny as in the picture based on reviews so that wasn't a disappointment to me. When I first got the mug in the mail and opened the box I thought "wow, this is smaller than I expected" but once I started using it I realized it is just the right size. I think the size of the box it comes in just makes it appear smaller than it is. I've been using my mug over and over again for hot chocolate and I love it! The color change never gets old and I love to watch it happen each time I make my drink. So does my roommate lol. As a Harry Potter fan, I LOVE the mug and I think it was definitely worth the money!

      I'm not thrilled with this mug. The outside is made of a rubber substance, which smells funny. The smell seems to have disappeared after several washings. Because of this texture, the mug is not smooth and glossy, as depicted. The graphics are not the best quality.

        The idea was great, and as a mug it does what it's supposed to do, but I was disappointed by the sticker-like appearance of the mug. Other thermal changing mugs I've purchased came across as much higher quality and you didn't scratch off the design just trying to get them out of the packaging. The slogan is FANTASTIC though. :)

          I sent it to a friend for his birthday and he is a super harry potter friend which was nice because he liked it. But the fact that he could see the sticker and that it had a few holes in it and such was a bummer, he wasnt too thrilled about that or the hand washing part. I suggest if you're giving it as a gift get it shipped to you're house first to see if you like it and then to whoever you want to give it to. Who knows, maybe I got the slightly messed up cup out of all of the good ones?
