I wore this to see HP and the Deathly Hallows and the HP exhibit, along with a grey sweater and white shirt. It was pretty epic. This tie is rather on the purple side, though in some lights it is definitely red. It can't really decide what color it wants to be :\ But the tie feels really nice and it seems pretty good quality to me (though, admittedly, this is the first tie I've ever owned)! The crest is nice too. Overall, it's a spiffy looking tie that is fairly true to the uniform and I'm exceedingly happy with it :)

I bought this earlier then the WBshop had that huge sale and had it sent to a friend. Well when we finally met up and I saw it, the tie is purple, like a nice eggplant purple, (the tie is made from silk so it has a nice sheen and feel) but it's not maroon. I also bought the chenille scarf and it's the right (maroon) colour but with the tie next to it, you can obviously see the colour difference and it's probably too late to return it to WB. Try and see someone else's tie in person before you decide whether to order one for yourself.

I was blown away with the quality of the tie, it is absolutely fantastic. Although the colour is not quite right (too purple) it is hard to tell from a distance and was well worth the money. Excellent buy.

This tie is an upgrade on the original Gryffindor tie I bought. The first was worn by Gryffindor House students for everyday use. This one feels great, is of better quality, and looks impressive with the Gryffindor crest.

On numerous occasions strangers have approached me because they've recognised it.

In my opinion this tie is perfect and has no flaws!
