This goes back to when I was a kid and Saturday mornings meant wall to wall cartoons. Just three networks and choices to make. Frankenstein Jr and The Impossibles was just another in the Hanna Barbera stable of great characters that have stood the test of time. I have already shared it with friends and children of all ages. It would have been great to run across this in a store, but that's just the way it is today. It is great that each episode has the opening and closing credits. Some of the older collections were not done like that. I will be ordering more, and pre-ordering "The Herculoids" that is available in a few weeks. Awesome job making some of these old memories and great cartoons available. It might not have been Emmy award stuff, but it still beats the new animation and anime stuff hands down. Hanna Barbera had it right and this is just another great exampple of it. Get this and share it with your kids and your siblings and even Mom and Dad. You will not be dissappointed!

Comments about Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles: The Complete Series:

When I first bought warner archive videos I purchased the Alex Toth cartoons, SPACE GHOST, BIRDMAN, HERCULOIDS, MIGHTY MIGHTOR, SHAZZAN, YOUNG SAMSON, and the earlier 1960s JONNY QUEST! FRANKENSTEIN JR. AND THE IMPOSSIBLES I bought later as it is a lighter spoof of superheros. It doesn't take itself seriously and has fun kidding around with it's own superhero image!

THE IMPOSSIBLES is a rock band until they are called upon by their boss, BIG D to go into action! Then they become the IMPOSSIBLES, a superhero fighting team, Coil man, Fluid man and Multi man!

FRANKENSTEIN JR has the voice of Ted Cassidy. Remember the menacing Balok in the STAR TREK episode, THE CORBONITE MANEUVER? Ted's basso voice was made friendly for superhero Frankie with his pal Buzz Conway! Fighting such villains and monsters like Mister Menace, the eletrical shock monster, the Alein brain, the Junk man and the Ghastly Genie, FRANKENSTEIN JR and Buzz Conway defend the earth from villains everywhere!

I guess I'm old fashioned but the CGI animation leaves me cold! There has been so much done with 2D hand drawn animation that I'll never get used to the new fangled 3 D computer animation!Way before THE INCREDIBLES, THE IMPOSSIBLES were transforming their selves to fight evil!

The one critisim I would make is with the menu! The episodes are listed with letters, A1, A2, A3 rather then having the episodes titles listed but you can list the titles next to the letters after watching them. All the episodes have been remastered so they are vibrant and colorful! With Saturday morning dead and CGI taken over these cartoons can be looked with fresh eyes! Thanks Warner Archive! These cartoons are DVD-R so they play on my DVD RAM DVD-R recorder!

This one of the best from the bumper crop that was the 60s! Lots of fun action and music, colorful and imaginative characters and scenarios! And stylized artwork still mattered! This is a can't miss item!

Comments about Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles: The Complete Series:

The long-awaited 1966 series gets a nice restoration on this 2-disc DVD set. Often, the DVD menu of a DVD-R can be a plain text screen, however, we are treated to a nice shot of Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles. It is chapterized so you can skip either Frankenstein Jr. or The Impossibles if you wish, but I recommend watching the whole thing. A great blast from my childhood and a well put-together box set. Great job, Warner Archives! Love those opening and end credits, which I never got to see when the show was syndicated.
