      Comments about Flying High (1931):

I bought this film for the great Busby Berkeley production number: Dance Until the Dawn. It is a wonderful art deco delight.
I also wanted to see the legendary Vaudevillian Bert Lahr in one of his few films. His wild style is on display here in all it's nutty splendor.
Unfortunately, the first third of the film is almost unwatchable due to the fact that the print used to make this DVD jumps and jumps and jumps. It stops after a while but then starts jumping all over again!
Fortunately the jumping stops before Dance until the Dawn.
Too bad they could not have used another print or somehow fixed the problem before they released this little gem on DVD.

        Comments about Flying High (1931):

Once again a stellar release from WHA that brings a true rarity into the homes of movie buffs everywhere. I'm not sure why Bert Lahr's brand of comedy didn't catch on with movie audiences after he was such a hit in Vaudeville. I think he's hysterical and this film shows off his talents well. Charlotte Greenwood is a hoot playing the man hungry waitress. Perhaps Jack haley would have been better in the Pat O'Brian role but why quibble.

Charlotte's no slouch either! They play off each other perfectly.

Good music numbers and lots of snappy banter!

            Comments about Flying High (1931):

It's great that your company is making these kinds of films available to the public in spite of the troubled market for collectibles. In addition, the transfer was very good. I'm willing to skip expensive packaging and special features if I can own a rarity like this.
