Comments about Flintstones, The: The Complete Sixth Season (DVD):

What can I say about a show that is and always will be a huge part of my life? I have loved this show as far back as I can remember. It lead me into my professional career as an animator 22 years ago having choosen to work for Hanna-Barbera Prod. as soon as I got out of art school. The Flintstones season 6 is the season I remember most vivdly watching with my family on Friday nights as a kid. The artwork in this season is more elaborate then that of season's past.I'm guessing H-B had a bigger budget for the show during this season. The great look of this season's episodes were also undoubtfully due to the use of the Xerox machine which at that time was used to replace hand inking the characters onto cels. I would also like to comment on the music used in these episodes. Much of the success of The Flintstones(and every other H-B show) is due to the magnificent underscores written by two awesomely talented men: Hoyt Curtain and Ted Nichols. During this season Ted Nichols replaced Hoyt Curtain as musical director for the studio and created some of the coolest music ever! So this season is my favorite because it contains underscores written by both musicians! How cool is that! The other cool thing about this season is the voice of Harvey Korman as the Great Gazoo (and other incidental characters). If you are looking for great timeless entertainment for you and your family, The Flintstones are certainly it! Season 6 is all that and more!
