Comments about Dying Room Only (MOD):

This story seems to me that it could happen to any couple traveling. Who hasn't excused themselves? It becomes a Gothic tale quickly. Isolation and negativity abound and bring paranoia. Will she or won't she satisfy her desperate quest?

Comments about Dying Room Only (MOD):

Obviously, the folks who did BREAKDOWN had seen this TV movie, because the entire first act of that movie is basically a re-tread of this one. Wonderful acting by the entire cast and a typically well-written script by Richard Matheson. Gritty and full of tension. This is such a great little film because despite the subject matter, due to its age and the fact it was originally made for TV, you can watch it with the whole family without worrying about foul language, excessive violence/gore or emabarassing nudity for the younger viewers, though they may still find it too intense despite it being 40+ years old. Nice job finding this and getting it released WAC!

Comments about Dying Room Only (MOD):

I am a fan of the 70's TV Terror Film Genre (there are books and websites for it) This is one of the better known and for good reason. It's a creepy film about a wife's husband disappearing at a rest stop in the desert. Stars the wonderful (and much younger) Cloris Leachman.

Comments about Dying Room Only (MOD):

Warner's limited edition of this mini-classic TV movie is a welcome substitute to the outdated VHS editions (which are difficult to find). Good performances and tense atmosphere dominate this low-budget thriller, in which Chloris Leachman (superb performance) loses husband Dabney Coleman in a dumpy roadside cafe in the desert. The print is clean and sharp, but not exceptional, and there are no extras, interviews, or commentary, as with all of the Warner Archive editions. For those who have been searching, I'd say pick this up, but go to the Warner's site, and not other vendors (where it will be more costly). The DVD played fine on all three players on which I loaded it, so I can't anticipate any buyers having issues with play-ability.

One of the best, and creepiest, TV movies of the early 70s...Cloris Leachman is great in the lead role, and all the supporting cast is just as good. It definitely builds a great sense of paranoia....bravo to writer Richard Matheson, yet again, for a great story.
