This is it!! This is the picture that all of us "boomers" out here will remember that scared us to death (when we were about 8 years old) on "Chiller Theater."
Frustrated fiancee Gloria Talbott hires a motley crew of men to help her search for "Bruce" (her intended) who disappeared 3 years prior into unexplored Mexican Mountains. Stalwart of unpteen movies Bronson Canyon is "Mysterious Mexico." They discover overgrown creatures and a 25' tall giant man with one bulging eye. Poor Gloria isn't QUITE able to make the connection that this ugly giant just MIGHT be her missing fiancee.....
This film is FUN all around! Horrible "special effects" hammy acting and an over-the-top music score by that maestro of Z movies Albert Glasser, keep things jumpin'! You'll LOVE IT!! For anyone who wants to bring back the "good ol' days" before lousy movies had 150 million dollar budgets, this is IT! I can't recommend this film highly enough. The WB Archive has done it again. This picture looks better now than it EVER did. Don't hesitate, pick this one up!

I have purchased 85+ Warner Archive MOD's and wasn't too pleased when the already [approaching] prohibitive price was increased from [$] to [$] for the "Remastered Editions" but decided to buy some to see what was so special about them. Well I found out... The first one I viewed [The Cyclops] was "remastered" from a cut/censored print! Frankly, Warner's "remastered" series of MOD's has lost all it's credibility with me as a result of this disgraceful/shoddy presentation.

            Comments about Cyclops (DVD, Remastered):

Great to have a movie I never saw on the local creature feature back in the day, and I always like to see Lon Chaney Jr. ham it up, but at the end of the day, "The Amazing Colossal Man" by Mr. BIG was better. Great presentation, great looking print for the time. [...] I'm glad services like these are now available for limited-market releases like these that we may not have ever seen otherwise. Would recommend!

            Comments about Cyclops (DVD, Remastered):

This much better now that the pulling of the spear out of the eye is in, Thank You very much to WBA for talking the time and cost to make it right. The framing is different then on my Beta tape, now it looks widescreen, but (isn't there alway an irratating but), on the Beta there is much more top and bottom, and very little difference on the sides. In the office scenes in the begining this dvd version, puts much more attention on Gloria Talbott's charater.

                  Comments about Cyclops (DVD, Remastered):

'The Cyclops' certainly isn't the best sci-fi movie to emerge from the 1950's. It's not even the best from Mr. BIG - either of the Colossal Man movies top this one. However, you can watch the more well-known movies only so often. That's where the forgotten obscurities come in. Warner Archive has done a fantastic job with this one. The print is nice and crips and even has the eye-gouging scene that was cut for TV. Any enthusiast of 1950's horror and sci-fi should be very pleased to add 'The Cylcops' to his library.

                  Comments about Cyclops (DVD, Remastered):

For a senior (now) who was a teen in the 50's, this one brings back fond memories. Corny acting, stupid looking monster, et.al., but as a kid we ate this stuff up. The DVD quality is top notch which has been par for WB Archives lately. I did get the uncut version after hearing that the original version (pre December 2010) had been cut (pulling the arrow out of the cyclops eye). Silly but fun.

Growing up as a kid in the late 60s, Seeing this film today is like visiting with old friends. Lon Chaney (Best known as the Wolfman) chews up the scenery as an annoying character out for himself in his quest for Uranium. Famed voice expert, Paul Frees provides several different voices both human and for several creatures including the creepy growls of our main titled character. Good special effects for it's time and for modern times as well. A lot of fun crammed into 66 min. The transfer is near flawless and has great theatrical contrast. Recommended.
