This is it!! This is the picture that all of us "boomers" out here will remember that scared us to death (when we were about 8 years old) on "Chiller Theater."
Frustrated fiancee Gloria Talbott hires a motley crew of men to help her search for "Bruce" (her intended) who disappeared 3 years prior into unexplored Mexican Mountains. Stalwart of unpteen movies Bronson Canyon is "Mysterious Mexico." They discover overgrown creatures and a 25' tall giant man with one bulging eye. Poor Gloria isn't QUITE able to make the connection that this ugly giant just MIGHT be her missing fiancee.....
This film is FUN all around! Horrible "special effects" hammy acting and an over-the-top music score by that maestro of Z movies Albert Glasser, keep things jumpin'! You'll LOVE IT!! For anyone who wants to bring back the "good ol' days" before lousy movies had 150 million dollar budgets, this is IT! I can't recommend this film highly enough. The WB Archive has done it again. This picture looks better now than it EVER did. Don't hesitate, pick this one up!

I have purchased 85+ Warner Archive MOD's and wasn't too pleased when the already [approaching] prohibitive price was increased from [$] to [$] for the "Remastered Editions" but decided to buy some to see what was so special about them. Well I found out... The first one I viewed [The Cyclops] was "remastered" from a cut/censored print! Frankly, Warner's "remastered" series of MOD's has lost all it's credibility with me as a result of this disgraceful/shoddy presentation.

      Comments about Cyclops, The:

A good old fashioned B-movie from the 50's. it was typical of the work that Bert I. Gordon did during his heyday as a horror/sci-fi genre film producer/director. Ranks right up there with "The Amazing Colossal Man", "War of the Colossal Beast", and "Village of the Giants". I've seen all of his movies starting as far back as my pre-teen years, and they're great if you like this sort of stuff.

        Comments about Cyclops, The:

One of Lon Chaney Jrs. last films. Old fashioned plot which is easily figured out. Black & white film that was great on a Saturday afternoon at the movies. Not really scary & (compared to today) poor to fair special effects BUT if you enjoyed those old dark days at the movies (when you got in for $.10 instead of $10.00) you'll remember the nostalgia of "good old-fasioned sci-fi films".

A old fashioned black & white "vintage" class B film. The special effects are not even close to today's standards but considering when this film was made, they were very good.

They have corrected a previous technical problem with the movie ending before it should have. Also, the movie has been restored and is very clear.

Cheesy sci-fi at its finest! It has the love interest - it has the evil foreign power - it has the monster! What more could you ask for... perfect for watching on a Saturday morning in your pajamas while eating a bowl of Captain Crunch!

                  Comments about Cyclops, The:

Great to have a movie I never saw on the local creature feature back in the day, and I always like to see Lon Chaney Jr. ham it up, but at the end of the day, "The Amazing Colossal Man" by Mr. BIG was better. Great presentation, great looking print for the time. [...] I'm glad services like these are now available for limited-market releases like these that we may not have ever seen otherwise. Would recommend!

This much better now that the pulling of the spear out of the eye is in, Thank You very much to WBA for talking the time and cost to make it right. The framing is different then on my Beta tape, now it looks widescreen, but (isn't there alway an irratating but), on the Beta there is much more top and bottom, and very little difference on the sides. In the office scenes in the begining this dvd version, puts much more attention on Gloria Talbott's charater.
