Crack-Up

After a train wreck sends art critic George Steele into a mental tailspin, he's fired from his job at a New York art museum. Seems unjust - until you learn there was no train wreck..

Comments about Crack-Up (1946):

The set-up and execution is better done than most films... and this film was 67 years ago... albeit RKO, so I digress.

Suspension of disbelief is required, but not much. It's transfixing and plausable until it falls apart into exposition and its attempt to bow-up the awesome, complicated set-up.

All issues aside, this is now in my top 10 (with Detour and Criss Cross).

Worth it.
