        Comments about Triple Cross:

The transfer( widescreen all right) looks "great" generally it's a sharp, and solid image.
The audio track is quite good:clear and clean.
It's uneven in spots, with some softness and scratches and a few bad frame.

          Comments about Triple Cross:

ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON VHS IN 1994 BY WB, THIS PROVOCATIVE WWII SPY THRILLER CASTS CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER AS AUTHENTIC ERA SPY EDDIE CHAPMAN. DIRECTED BY TERENCE YOUNG, FOLLOWING HIS DEPARTURE FROM THE JAMES BOND SERIES WITH THUNDERBALL (1965), AND THEN THE IAN FLEMING PROPERTY, THE POPPY IS ALSO A FLOWER (1966, 1967) FOR BOTH TELEVISION AND FILMS, HE SHAPES THIS FILM ACROSS AN EXPANSIVE WARTIME LANDSCAPE, BEGINNING WITH PLUMMER'S INDOCTRINATION INTO THE NAZI ELITE WITH COLONEL GERT FROBE, 'COUNTESS' ROMY SCHNEIDER, AND ULTIMATELY TO WORLDLY COLONEL YUL BRYNNER. PLUMMER EASES INTO FRENCH TERRITORY WHERE HE ROMANCES RESISTANCE SPY CLAUDINE AUGER. FINALLY, PLUMMER SHADOWS TO THE BRITISH AND INTELLIGENCE CHIEF TREVOR HOWARD WHERE HE IS ASSIGNED TO DIVERT THE GERMAN V-1 AND V-2 ROCKET ASSAULTS ON ENGLAND. WITH THE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND ESTABLISHED, YOUNG MOVES ONTO PLUMMER BEING AWARDED THE IRON CROSS, AND THE IRONIC DEVELOPMENT THAT HIS CRIMINAL RECORDS WERE DESTROYED IN AN AIR RAID, DETAILING HIS CAREER AS A PROFESSIONAL THIEF. TRIPLE CROSS WAS NOTABLE FOR YOUNG CASTING SEVERAL 'ALUMNI' FROM THE JAMES BOND FILMS, INCLUDING FROBE, AUGER, ANTHONY DAWSON (DR.NO) AND FRANCIS DE WOLFF (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE). YOUNG ALSO CLEVERLY BLENDED THE STYLE OF THE SUPERSPY FILM OF THE ERA WITH THE DIMENSIONS OF THE WWII THRILLER, GIVING IT A GLOSS RARELY SEEN IN THIS TYPE OF FILM. PLUMMER GAVE THE CHAPMAN ROLE THE PERFECT ESCAPIST GLOSS, AND THE INTERNATIONAL CAST WAS AN INSPIRED TOUCH FOR THIS 1967 FILM. THE WB ARCHIVE EDITION HAS BEEN NICELY PRESERVED IN ITS ORIGINAL WIDESCREEN ASPECT RATIO.
