Comments about The FBI: The Second Season Part Two:

The F.B.I. (Federal Burreau Of Investigation) had always been an important subject in radio and TV (remember The F.B.I. In War And Peace or seen the current blockbuster crime program N3MBERS?), but it was this public relations program that would not only bring The F.B.I.'s best and brightest to modern TV audiences, but highly showcase the burreau in an intelligent and accurate light. Now that you have enjoyed the first half of The Second Season (1966-67) of The F.B.I., be well-prepared for Part Two as Inspectors Lewis Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr) and Jim Rhodes (Stephen Brooks) set out for some more heroic missions handed out from the desk of assistant director Arthur Ward (Philip Abbott) and with additional help from the acutal hunch. Once again, they get ready for some more gripping action where they include another set of investigations involving espionage (the enemy spies on these episodes are even just as relavant as the climate deniers from The Global Warming Era of the 2000's and 2010's!), as well as with other cases involving organized crime, The F.B.I.'s most wanted, extortionists, kidnappings and a chilling episode dealing with an arsonist. What makes The Second Season just as ironic is the spellbinding two-part episode The Executioners, also starring Walter Pidgeon, Telly Savalas, Susan Strasberg, Robert Duvall and Celeste Holm, as it deals with a power struggle between two organized crime families. Plus, the two agensts also confront corporate greed on two episodes (The Camel's Nose and Rope Of Gold) which adds to the program's landmark suspense. But on Part One of The Second Season, you get to see a backgammon-style Cold War episode entitled The Assassin, where it focuses on an aging diplomat who as as a highly respected peace-broker for both sides of the political spectrum (Democracy and Communism alike) as he makes his visit to the United States, but is targeted by an assassin. According to historical fact, having a diplomat act as a peace-broker would be another powerful international tool in maintaining the peace during The Cold War. Now that you have Part One of The F.B.I.: The Second Season, make sure you get Part Two of the program's thrilling second season.

Comments about The FBI: The Second Season Part Two:

With The F.B.I. fresh off from it's powerful groundbreaking First Season (1965-66), The Second Season (1966-67) brings the highly lauded public relations TV program to a bold new level in crime solving technology that the program introduced from day one. However, with the popularity of spy programs becoming a part of the TV landscape in the 1960's that included The Saint and Mission: Impossible, thanks to the emergence of James Bond, The F.B.I. became among a set of spy programs that both thrilled and captivated TV audiences at the time. Now concluding with The Second Season, we get two see Inspectors Lewis Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr) and Jim Rhodes (Stephen Brooks) take on another set of real-life cases from the files of The F.B.I. as they again take on organized crime, communist spies, terror and extortionists. So with the turbulent 1960's already in full swing in the wake of the J.F.K. assassination in 1963, The F.B.I.'s original dynamic duo get dispatched to far flung corners of the United States by assistant director Arthur Ward (Philip Abbott) to take on the big cases. Produced with full government cooperation with stories drawn upon the files of The crime-fighting Burreau and including documentary-style narration done in a brief, realistic manner, The F.B.I. would set a new high mark in the depiction of American law enforcement on TV that is just as thrilling as it is realistic. Again abeited by the actual hunch, the action keeps right on going at full throttle in Quinn Martin's crowning achievement, so make sure you get The Second Season (in Part One as well as Part Two), which you can place along with the program's first DVD edition as they make them an important and vital part of your TV library.

Comments about The FBI: The Second Season Part Two:

Includes rare episode from 1967 with Glen Campbell, who at that time was on the verge of becoming a household name with his release of "Gentle On My Mind". In fact, the electric Mosrite guitar he uses in this episode is the same one seen on the Gentle On My Mind album cover. It was just six months later that he got his own TV variety series and the rest is history. The DVD has excellent picture & audio quality, and it's neat to see all those new 1967 Ford Galaxie 500's being driven around in the episode.

Comments about The FBI: The Second Season Part Two:

Picture quality was great. I have waited a long time for The F.B.I. to be released on DVD and am very satisfied with both sets of Season 2. This was one of my favorite shows of the 1960s.

This was my first time purchasing directly from WB and was so pleased with the fast and free shipping. I will not hesitate to buy from here again.

Comments about The FBI: The Second Season Part Two:

The two-part episode, The Executioners, is one of the best of the series. It retains the original broadcast titles (Ford Motor Co. logo is continued) as well as Efrem Zimbalist Jr. telling audience to stay tuned for Part II and (at end of Part II) that the show would be pre-empted the following week so ABC could broadcast The Robe. The story is very good, these were a little bonus. Norman Jolley was one of the best writers on the show and he delivers here.

It's interesting to compare this with newer FBI TV shows. There are a lot of guest stars who later became big stars on TV and in movies.
