          Comments about Fire:

Irwin Allen exec-produced this made-for-TV film likely greenlit on the success of the previous year's "Flood!"

The format is one you all know by now - a multitude of characters are introduced then put into danger - but what's great is the combination of older stars and younger up-and-comers. You have great performances from Ernest Borgnine, Patty Duke and Lloyd Nolan, but also appearances from a pre-Knots Landing Donna Mills and a between Airport 1975 and CHiPS Erik Estrada.

Allen's experience with fire in making "The Towering Inferno" shows, and while the budget limitations of being made for TV are clear, it's still an entertaining production, better than most features made at the time or, frankly, since.

A big thumbs up to Warner Archive for making this available on DVD, as previously it was only available on an ancient VHS release.

              Comments about Fire:

Fire is another one of the 1970s disaster film genre. It's OK to watch. Neville Brand is the bad guy who starts this disaster. He's always fun to watch. Pretty typical TV fare.

              Comments about Fire:

Yet another great disaster film from the master of disaster, Irwin Allen. This title has it all, spectacular fire scenes, people in peril, and more importantly, a spectacular death scene. Not as great as the Towering Inferno, but great on it's own merits. Highly recommended from fans of the disaster genre.
