OK this cartoon rocks it is full of the 80's action. the story line is not original, and it follows the 80's action cartoon formula to the T. if you do not like the style you will not like this cartoon. This cartoon has it all, but kicking, sci fi, impossible scenarios and Chuck Norris does it all. with his young side kick TOO MUCH. this whole series is TOO MUCH FUN!! its cheesier then I remembered and it still Rocks!. I have watched all 5 episodes 5 times I have only owned for month. I absolutely recommend this to 80's cartoon fans.

Simple stories, no character development, and simplistic action common of the era, Karate Kommandos still has high-grade animation (especially measured against modern terms) and is bolstered by the American icon Chuck Norris. A must for any fan of 80's television animation.

With all the Chuck Norris hype going on this is a perfect gift for my 12yr old that has a new CN joke everyday he love it. If only this show would make a come back. A+

Sure it is campy at times and cheesy at other times, but it's from the 80s so what do you expect? I found myself laughing at the absurdity of it all. I only wish they had at least one more season (Mr. T's show lasted much longer and was much more entertaining) but if you ever wondered how Chuck Norris would fare in animated form then this cartoon is for you. Great job WB and please keep those 70s and 80s classics coming!

Chuck is one of two action stars of the 80's that Ruby Spears put on the small screen Saturday mornings (the other being, of course, "Mr. T."). Both series' were bookended by live-action moral segments by the stars themselves. Both were entertaining and engaging in their own rights. Still, a crucial difference did exist: Chuck, lest you think this is simply a small sampling of his series, only ran for five episodes; "T." for two full seasons.

Clearly, Ruby Spears got the formula better for the other. That being said, however, there is an entertaining charm to seeing Chuck take down armies of ninjas and other assorted baddies, even if the moral segments have very little whatsoever to do with the episodes. Additionally, I'm not sure if it was just my copy or not but episode five (of five episodes) has a glitch in it which causes the DVD to quit playing altogether around twelve minutes in or so. Still, this is easily skipped around by using the timer to scroll forward.

So, the series has sort of a bad rep at being only five episodes long. There's no denying it. This was an eighties action icon with an animated series! If you're a fan of Chuck (or just the jokes the surrounding him and need a reason to make a few more), here's your chance.
