Fun change of perspective for it's era, a very female muskeeter, whose gender proves valuable in all situations. Maureen O'Hara is not afraid of the physicalness of the role, and it's just plain Saturday afternoon movie pleasure.

Comments about At Sword's Point (MOD):

This is an RKO swashbuckler that literally personifies mid-century matinee charm. The sons of THE 3 MUSKETEERS against an evil despot with the catch being Maureen O'Hara stepping in as one of the boys. Cornel Wilde was an avid fencer, and it shows, but everyone else does a fine bit of derring-do, too. The Technicolor print was soft but saturated, with a film-like appearance, and with only slight, 3-strip alignment issues that didn't upset the overall experience. A wonderfully nostalgic adventure film.

Comments about At Sword's Point (MOD):

"At Sword's Point" was a very fun movie to watch. It reminded me of Saturday afternoon at the movies as a kid. I bought this DVD for Maureen O'Hara who is always a pleasure to watch. She is incredibly beautiful in technicolor in a role that is very feminist for it's time (sad to think this may have been the kind of the role that caused Rodgers and Hammerstein to prevent her from being cast in the movie version of "The King and I"). If you want to have fun watching a good--but not great--movie, give this one a try.
