This used to be available pressed! Take a survey and ask the customers if they would be willing to pay a premium for a pressed disc, or better yet, release it on Blu-ray and be done with it. Not too radical, is it?

Comments about 7 Faces of Dr. Lao:

This is the first made to order dvd (Dvd-R) that I have seen that has a scene selection menu rather than just the chapter stops as in other earlier Warner Archive dvd mods like " the Flight of Dragons" and "Invitation to the Dance" As a fan of Tony Randall in the Odd Couple, it's a lot of fun to watch Tony play many of these fantastic characters: Pan, Medusa, Merlin, the serpent and Dr. Lao! Randall's Lao as a cranky old Chinese may not seem politically correct today but Randall skillfully jumps from old chinese to intelligent Felix Unger and other accents that reveal there is more to this old chinese showman then meets the eye! I'm very glad to receive this dvd with a high quality sharp, vibrant print! I also appreciate the letterbox format so I can see the whole image on my Toshiba 27 inch diagonal stereo tv! There's also a good special feature on William Tuttle make up wizard of mgm! He earlier came up with the Moorlocks for Pal's The Time Machine which I just got on dvd too! There is also Jim Danforth's stop motion Loch Ness monster, a catfish which when it breathes the air inflates into the giant Loch Ness sea serpent! An exciting climax that comes after the townspeople realise not to give up their town to the greedy Mr. Stark and even Mr. Stark realises that people are really better then he gave them credit for! Dr. Lao, knowing his job is done, takes his circus to another town! Charles Beaumont: Twilight Zone writer, wrote the screenplay! Since this movie was made in the early 60s just how many years is that before David Carradine did Kung fu with a chinese man fighting injustice in the wild west?!! Dr. Lao used magic rather then fists but it is still an interesting comparison! Now Warner Archive, if you would release, " The Wonderful World of the Brother's Grimm" which has, Terry Thomas, Buddy Hackett and Jim Danforth's stop motion dragon, that would go great with this dvd! I'd also like to have the Pupettoons, George Pal's animated model puppet shorts where he got his start! Thanks for releasing this!!

Comments about 7 Faces of Dr. Lao:

I saw this film over 35 years ago. It made a permanent imprint on me. It's a western, and a fantasy (but not science fiction). My kids saw it for the first time and loved it.

I don't know how may times I have seen the movie. I alway cry at the ending. Tony Randall is great in the various roles and it is interesting to see Arthur O'Connell as a villan. This film is great fun and moves so swiftly that it is over before you know that you've spent 100 minutes.
