Comments about Our Gang Collection (52 Shorts 1938-1942) (5 DVD Set):
I have not seen these "Our Gang/ MGM" shorts, since I was a child growing up in the late seventies/early eighties. I have all the "Little Rascal" shorts. These shorts show the children as they grew older. While not as engaging, it was quite fun to watch. Certain scenes I remembered as if it were yesterday. The episode where Alfalfa thinks his Aunt Matilda is trying to murder him, to be exact. My sister was shocked to see them when I showed them to her. We watched a couple of episodes, and she asked if she could borrow them. I think I will by her the set as a Xmas gift. These shorts are not remastered. They look great. They certainly have held up after all these years. If you're a fan, I highly recommend picking up this set.

Comments about Our Gang Collection (52 Shorts 1938-1942) (5 DVD Set):
I had been waiting for this collection for some time. Most of these had never been commercially available. Several of these episodes had been knocking around in my head since childhood viewings on TV, during the non-PC 70's. There is one episode in particular that had me rolling--"Unexpected Riches" found on disc 4. It involves Buckwheat's daydream of handing out watermelons and fried chicken on the dark side of town from a limo! At least that is what he plans to do with his share of the fortune the boys think that they will find at the end of a long work day digging a ditch. I don't recall ever seeing that on the version I saw on TV! The video quality can be a mixed bag at times, with too many episodes crammed onto each disc. The compression agent leaves the image far too pixelated and murky. Too bad. I doubt we will see these looking any better for some time. Still a recommended purchase! This can be had on a Warner sale for around [$] (with your club discount). Well worth the price of admission!

Comments about Our Gang Collection (52 Shorts 1938-1942) (5 DVD Set):
This set of Our Gang shorts were more entertaining than I remembered, having not seen them in many years. There was a bit too many morality plays which I didn't think fit the Our Gang/Little Rascals format, but an enjoyable set to watch
