What secret lurks 20,000 feet below the waves in the paranormal realm called The Bermuda Triangle? That’s the question a scientist (Burl Ives), his student (Carl Weathers) and a young man (Leigh McCloskey) haunted by nightmarish memories of his Bermuda childhood ask themselves. The answer involves a beauty (Connie Sellecca) who has sold her soul for eternal youth. And a giant sea turtle that leaves death in its wake. Eerie and hypnotic, The Bermuda Depths was produced by Arthur Rankin, Jr and Jules Bass (The Year Without a Santa Claus), who meld their imaginative fantasy style with the live-action horror genre.

I seen this movie many years ago and have been looking for it for awhile I like turtles, the acting is better then alot of movies that fall into this catagory there are times when it is corny but aren't they all I enjoy it glad I bought it
Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
I ordered this because I am interested in ocean mysteries. I had no idea this was a Rankin/Bass film with Murray Laws music. It is a fun 70s made-for-tv response to The Deep, The Bermuda Triangle, and even JAWS with a very young and stunning Connie Seleca. Obviously not an award winner but look for the Gamera sea turtle look alike. Picture quality is far better than i expected.

I have wanted to see the movie again, ever since I was in the the 3rd grade, almost 30yrs ago. It is beautiful and I think of the movie every time I go for a swim. It's every girls fantasy. It would be a huge hit if it was remade!!

Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
Yes, this is that movie you saw on TV back in the 70's, with the giant turtle and the girl with glowing eyes. It won't be quite as engaging as you remember (nor will the special effects) but if you were going bonkers trying to find this little flick like so many other people you'll finally have a chance to see it again.
Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
This is one of those films that I saw as a young boy and certain scenes stuck in my mind and never left me. It was nice to find it here at WB, even if it's in the MOD format. Not really that great of a story now that I've watched again it after all these years, but it's still a fairly unique film with some haunting images.
The WB Archive cover artwork is their typical lame junk: a photo of Connie Selleca slapped in the middle of a blue field. How sad & pathetic, especially since beautiful, original painted artwork for the film IS available, if you just search the web for it. Apparently WB's staff didn't see the need to bother. :(
Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
This movie that has haunted my memories for 32 years was finally made available on DVD and I must say that I was not dissapointed with the quality of the movie considering how poorly it was made originally. This was a great revisit to my childhood as the movie was for the main Character. Thank You WB for bringing back and preserving that childhood memory.

Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
WB advertises this as being in widescreen. It also says that it's "16X9 Full Frame" It is neither! It is standard 4:3 "Full Frame", and does NOT fill a 16X9 frame. I would think WB would be knowledgeable and HONEST. This is a theatre quality production, and SHOULD have been shot widescreen, but look at the tech spec at [@], and you'll find out that they cheated themselves in not shooting this in the deserving widescreen format.

Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
After years of inferior Home VHS copies, this Warner Archives copy of The Bermuda Depths is what fans have been waiting for. Several scenes deleted in many cable showings have been restored, and the Monaural sound is high fidelity. Likewise the picture is the best I have ever seen it. Full frame just like it was originally broadcast in 1978 but the print brings out the rich color.

Comments about Bermuda Depths, The (DVD):
This is one of those films that has had no real release (except for some sketchy US vhs release 14 years after the film was made and horrible quality foreign vhs editions)
Most people own this from 20 plus year old tv recordings or bootlegged dvds from the vhs tape.
THE VERSION OFFERED HERE BY WARNER BROS. IS 100% COMPLETELY UNCUT!!!!!
It looks amazing, though the night time/darker scenes have a little more grain than I care to see (nothing a low filter could not have taken care of). You also get a little more picture on all sides with this version (so far all info points to the film being shot as full frame open matte. The vhs and tv prints are actually zoomed in a little more than this print from Warner. The picture is very sharp and clear for the most part. The sound is a regular 2 channel ac3 (at 192 bitrate) and comes across clear and understandable. Everything is a win win.
Yes, you can retire those old bootleg and composite prints, this one here is a keeper. THANK YOU WB
