Who has The Power? The Power to control minds, move objects, and murder by telekinesis? That’s what scientists at a space lab want to know when they realize they are targeted by one of their own – someone who possesses a superhuman power and a terrifying secret agenda. Producer George Pal brings the imagination and craft that turned his The War of the Worlds and The Time Machine into sci fi-classics to this eerie tale heightened by a suspenseful Miklos Rozsa score. The fine cast, led by George Hamilton and Suzanne Pleshette, includes two talents forever emblematic of paranoid post-war sci-fi/creature features: Michael Rennie (The Day the Earth Stood Still) and Richard Carlson (Creature from the Black Lagoon).

Comments about Power, The (DVD):
This is a good and suspenseful film produced by George Pal, the man who gave us the classic films: "The Time Machine" and the "War of the Worlds."
The film concerns some unknown killer wiping out of the scientists involved in a genetic testing project. The team leader, a very good George Hamilton falls under suspicion as he attempts to unravel who the killer is and why. He is assisted by fellow-scientist and love interest, Suzanne Pleshette, who shows us once again what a beautiful woman she was in her prime. The terrific supporting cast includes Michael Rennie, Earl Holliman, Aldo Ray, Richard Carlson, Arthur O'Connell, Gary Merrill and others. The film also has a terrific musical score by legendary film composer Miklos Rosza. (You will remember the music after the film is over.)
In conclusion, this is a good suspense film with some nice special effects. It will keep you guessing up to the conclusion. Picture and sound quality were very nice on my blu-ray player.

I was worried that I wasn't going to get my purchase. WB came through and I just received the DVD's. I am happy with the availability of obscure titles for my unique tastes. I'm sure to shop again in the future when that less than blockbuster movie catches my eye.

Solidly good-to-great sci-fi film. Suitable viewing for all ages. Excellent print/DVD quality. Above-average acting (top-notch cast), screenplay, music, cinematography (VERY 60's), and effects. Would recommend without any reservations!

This was the first time I ever saw this film. While I'm not a big fan of George Hamilton I thought he did a fine job in this role. I was very pleased with the movie and I'm very happy to have it in my collection. I have always enjoyed movies about powers of the mind and this is now on my top 5 list.
